Common Questions
What you need
to know about us.
Straightforward answers to help you understand how we work and whether we’re the right fit for you.
What type of client benefits from our services?
For most of our clients who have $500,000 or more of investable assets, we charge one transparent asset management fee that includes investment management, financial planning, tax preparation, and estate document coordination. No separate bills for planning or tax work. However, we also work with clients below that threshold who have tax, estate, and/or financial planning needs. These services are offered with a separate fee arrangement.
Do I have to move all my accounts to work with you?
To offer the most effective solution for you, we typically suggest consolidating accounts for the most efficient coordination and potential cost savings. However, there are situations where we can’t directly manage the accounts (401Ks, annuities, etc.), but will still coordinate planning and advice.
Are you a fiduciary?
Yes. As both a registered investment advisor and Certified Financial Planner*(R) professionals, we have a legal obligation to act in your best interest and disclose all fees clearly. What’s in your best interest is our only interest.
How often will we meet?
The initial planning process may require anywhere from 3-6 meetings. After the plan is developed, we typically have at least one formal review meeting per year, with additional meetings as often as needed for tax planning, major decisions, or life changes. We do not limit or charge for the number of meetings and cater the frequency to your planning needs.
What’s the minimum to work with you?
For clients who receive our comprehensive services model, the minimum annual fee is $3,000. For tax or estate services only, we quote based on your situation and the fee may be less than our minimum.
How is Anchor Bay different from other financial advisors?
We coordinate all your financial services under one roof – your portfolio manager, financial planner, and tax preparer work together daily. Most people manage separate relationships with different professionals and hope someone connects the dots. We built our practice around actual coordination with highly credentialed and experienced financial professionals.
What if I just need tax advice & preparation?
Anchor Bay Tax & Consulting serves clients who need tax services without full wealth management. We help individuals, businesses, and estates with all tax related matters. There is always the option to add financial planning or investment management later if it makes sense.
What happens during the first meeting?
We listen. What’s working in your financial life? What concerns keep you up? What goals matter most? This initial meeting helps us understand whether we’re a good fit – no pressure or sales pitch, just a conversation.
